• Title I Notice for Parents (en espanol): As the parent or guardian of a student in a Newport News public school that is receiving federal Title I funds, you have the right to know the qualifications of the classroom teachers who instruct your child, and statistical information about your child’s school.

• Title I for Parent Involvement (Powerpoint): The participation of parents in regular, two-way, and meaningful communication involving student academic learning and other school activities is required by Title I.

• Carver Policy and School-Parent Compact (en espanol): This compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.
